The
St. Lawrence University Security and Safety department
organized and hosted a four-day Security Academy for its own staff
and for staff at Clarkson University. Over 20 topics, ranging from
cultural diversity, responding to grief and trauma, and fire safety
to understanding the millennial generation, self-defense, writing,
and negotiations, engaged the participants; 17 presenters from St.
Lawrence staff and regional resource agencies volunteered their time
and expertise. |

Country Public Radio has received the Harold K. Hochschild Award from
the Adirondack Museum. The Hochschild Award, formerly called the Founders
Award, was established in 1990 in memory of the museum's founder,
whose passion for the Adirondacks, its people and environment inspired
the creation of the Adirondack Museum. This is the first time the
Adirondack Museum presented this award to an organization rather than

Kanti
Shrestha '07, of Kathmandu, Nepal, recently completed a program at
Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, that introduces business
concepts to undergraduate students who are from groups underrepresented
in the corporate world. Read

2006 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, students
must earn a 3.6 grade point average. |
St.
Lawrence attackman Kevin Russell '08 of Madison, CT, has earned a
spot on Team Scotland for the World Lacrosse Championships and will
join his older brother Matt, an All America goaltender at Navy, for
the tournament in London, ONT.

an opportunity for a gathering of St. Lawrence alumni and friends,
several of whom serve on the association's board.

Jennings '84 has been appointed market leader and managing director
of Burson-Marsteller Australia, a public relations firm. Jennings
has responsibility for the firm's operations in the country and, together
with the established Australian leadership team, will direct the corporate,
financial, consumer, technology, healthcare and government relations
practices. Burson-Marsteller has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.Read

Doe '94 is the co-author of a new novel, Waking God, that
is the first in a planned trilogy the publisher states is "part
thriller, part religion... a fast moving story with thriller aspects

Class of 2010 will arrive August 28 for Orientation. The Orientation
Web site has been posted with the schedule of programs and events
designed to help new students understand St. Lawrence better, prepare
for a productive first semester and get to know their fellow classmates.
