Keep
your eyes on the progress of construction through the Johnson
Hall of Science photo album, updated as of June 24, and visit the
many related news stories on our Web site about the
sciences. St. Lawrence received a challenge grant from the Kresge
Foundation last fall to help fund science facilities construction.
In order to meet the challenge, the University
must raise just over $4.1 million in new gifts and pledges for
the project by April 1, 2007. The University broke ground in May 2005
for the $36.9 million, state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable
design for biology, chemistry, biochemistry, neuroscience and psychology.

New
on the Web
The Class of 2010 is
already linked to St. Lawrence, with a dedicated Web site designed
as a one-stop shop where students can find all the information they
need over the summer as they make the transition to SLU. Links include
the list of class
members and their high schools, new student "frequently asked
questions," materials from the New Student Guide, and links to
many areas of the University's Web site that new students find helpful.

Sesquicentennial
News:
As of June 30, the official celebration of the University's 150th
anniversary will conclude. The Sesquicentennial Web site will remain
active through the summer, and then will evolve into a new history
and traditions Web site, using much of the great material we gathered
and created over the year. Thank you to the many students, faculty,
alumni, and staff who conceived of, participated in, or supported
Sesquicentennial events. Special thanks to the University Communications
team, all of whom were central to planning and programming throughout
the year, and to the dedicated Sesquicentennial
Committee.
