Keep
your eyes on the progress of construction through the Johnson
Hall of Science photo album, updated as of June 17, and visit the
many related news stories on our Web site about the
sciences. St. Lawrence received a challenge grant from the Kresge
Foundation last fall to help fund science facilities construction.
In order to meet the challenge, the University
must raise just over $4.1 million in new gifts and pledges for
the project by April 1, 2007. The University broke ground in May 2005
for the $36.9 million, state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable
design for biology, chemistry, biochemistry, neuroscience and psychology.

Going
the Extra Mile: Mentors come from every imaginable place. We often
cite the lifelong influence of great faculty; via a Web survey, we
asked students and alumni to tell us about staff who helped shape
their education and their life’s direction. Plus, read President
Sullivan's essay on his own academic and administrtaive mentors.

Sesquicentennial
News:
Last call! We're still collecting your best wishes
to SLU on its 150th birthday and your greetings to the people who'll
celebrate our 200th birthday in 2056. Send your birthday wishes
to St. Lawrence and future Laurentians through our
Web link. As of June 30, the official celebration of the University's
150th anniversary will conclude. The Sesquicentennial Web site will
remain active through the summer, and then will evolve into a new
history and traditions Web site, using much of the great material
we gathered and created over the year. Thank you to the many students,
faculty, alumni, and staff who conceived of, participated in, or
supported Sesquicentennial events. Special thanks to the University
Communications team, all of whom were central to planning and programming
throughout the year, and to the dedicated Sesquicentennial
Committee.
