Keep
your eyes on the progress of construction through the Johnson
Hall of Science photo album and visit the many related news stories
on our Web site about the
sciences. St. Lawrence received a challenge grant from the Kresge
Foundation last fall to help fund science facilities construction.
In order to meet the challenge, the University
must raise just over $4.1 million in new gifts and pledges for
the project by April 1, 2007.
The University broke ground in May 2005 for the $36.9 million,
state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable design for biology,
chemistry, biochemistry, neuroscience and psychology.

Alexandra Kirby Taylor '89 of Brooklyn has been elected 2006-2008
president of the Alumni Association's Executive Council, succeeding
Jeff Honeywell'80 of Albany, who completed his two-year term at reunion.
Serving as fellow officers are Vice President Ken Polk '91 of Buffalo,
NY; Treasurer Gregory Ferrero '84 of Darien, CT; and Secretary Stephen
Todd '92 of Watertown, NY. Read

Eleven
alumni began their three-year terms of service on the Alumni Executive
Council last week, after being elected at Reunion. New members of
the council are Willoughby (Bill) Richardson '62, Kent Fuller '65,
Harry Koolen '69, Kent Jones '72, Gayle Viebranz Welch '77, Garry
Weischedel '79, the Rev. Georges de Laire '89, Debbie Cashman Ohl
'90, Kennedy Khabo '91, Greg Chase '98 and Melody Diegor '01.
Student delegates to the council are Sara Bernier '08, Lindsey
Wetmiller '07, Danielle Weaver '07 and Nathaniel Drake '07.
The Alumni Executive Council is a group elected by graduates of
St. Lawrence to maintain and stimulate interest in the University,
assist in raising funds and serve as a consulting body on major
issues and decisions affecting the University. |
