Beta Kappa national honor society welcomed 14 new members on Saturday,
May 20, with the final induction ceremony of the year.

The
St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees passed an historic resolution
at its meeting on May 20. St. Lawrence adopts environmental sustainability
as one of its core values, thanks to the efforts of the Thelomathesian

St.
Lawrence University Associate Professor of Chemistry Ning Gao has
been awarded a grant of $32,059, as part of a $105,000 project grant,
by the Cooperative Institute of Limnology and Ecosystems Research
at the University of Michigan, funded by the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration. This project is an on-going study by her
and other scientists of mercury contamination in Lake Champlain. Read

graduates of St. Lawrence University have been invited to participate
in this year's special Alumni Reunion Weekend, June 1 through 4, celebrating
the 150th anniversary of the institution. Special "affinity"
reunions will take place with former and current members of the Alumni
Executive Council, past recipients of the Alumni Citations, graduates
of the Theology School, alumni members of the Laurentian Singers,
and alumni of the HEOP program. Events on that weekend will officially
wrap up the year-long Sesquicentennial recognition. Read

baseball team went 1-2 at the NCAA Tournament, finishing its season
with a 24-14 record and earning its first NCAA Tournament bid since

Senior Zane Buckingham
has qualified for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships
and will compete in the decathlon at Benedictine College starting
Thursday. He had the ninth best performance of 17 entrants in the

chapter of Habitat for Humanity is holding a four-person scramble
golf tournament - called "Holes for Humanity" - to raise
funds for building materials needed to construct a home in Rensselaer
Falls. Read
