The
St. Lawrence women's
hockey team defeated the University of Minnesota-Duluth
1-0 in the NCAA Quarterfinals to advance to their third straight Frozen
Four. Sophomore forward Sabrina Harbec of St. Hubert, QC, is one of
the top three finalists for the 2006 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.
She is the first St. Lawrence player to ever be named in top three
candidates. |

T.J. Trevelyan of Mississauga, ON and Mike Madill of Kirkland, QC,
members of the men's
hockey team, were recipients of two of the ECAC Hockey
League's top individual honors at the league's recent awards dinner.

Arts Andrea J. Nouryeh will deliver the Frank P. Piskor Faculty Lecture
for 2006, on the topic "An Experiment in Equality: The Stage
Door Canteen." The lecture is on Monday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m.

David Lloyd '75 will speak and read from recent work at St. Lawrence
University on Thursday, April 6, at 8 p.m. in Herring-Cole, as part
of the University's Writers Series. The event, also part of the celebration
of St. Lawrence's Sesquicentennial,

 Eddie
Cruz '08 of Ridgewood, NY and Yralee Mendez '07 of New York, NY, are
two Success Stories posted to the Council
of Independent College and Universities (cIcu) Web site. Cruz
and Mendez submitted essays to the site describing their success at
St. Lawrence and the benefits they have felt thanks to state-funded
financial aid.

Professor of Canadian
Studies Joseph Jockel was quoted in a February 21 article in the
Canadian national news magazine Maclean's, on a dispute between the
U.S. and Canada over military presence in the Northwest Passage.
