Sixty-seven outstanding high school seniors from throughout Northern New York State and Southeastern Canada have been named Augsbury/North Country Scholars by St. Lawrence University. Read more
The planning committee for the Canton-St. Lawrence University Race Weekend has announced a naming sponsor for its half-marathon event; to be called the St. Lawrence County Dunkin' Donuts Half-Marathon.

The organizers of the Third Annual Canton-St. Lawrence University Race Weekend, to be held May 6, 2006, are holding a logo-design contest, with a prize of $100. Read more
The University Chorus is accepting new members for the spring semester. In celebration of the University's Sesquicentennial, performance of a Gilbert and Sullivan review is planned. Read more
Campus Events
Although Martin Luther King Jr. Day was observed on January 16, St. Lawrence University will hold a service to mark the holiday on Monday, January 23, the first day of classes in the spring 2006 semester. The service will be in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on campus, beginning at 5 p.m. and feature two speakers: the Reverend Joan Brown Campbell, who received an honorary degree from St. Lawrence in 2005, and the Reverend David Blanchard'80, nationally respected Unitarian-Universalist minister and activist. St. Lawrence University's Amnesty International chapter will hold a benefit concert called "AIDSaid" on Friday, February 3, from 5 p.m. to midnight in the Winston Room of the Student Center. There is no fee for admission, but donations are welcome, with 75 percent of the proceeds going to the AIDS Resource Center of Northern New York and 25 percent to the South Africa Ubuntu Project. A workshop on identifying and reporting child abuse and maltreatment will be held at St. Lawrence University on Tuesday, March 28, from 4 to 6:45 p.m. in Atwood Hall, Room 31.Read more
Faculty News
St. Lawrence University athletic trainer Ron Waske '69 the former trainer of the New York Islanders, will be inducted into the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Association Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers Hall of Fame in June. He's helped St. Lawrence athletes since returning to his alma mater in 1984. Read more
