of Trustees approved a gift of $10,000 from the University to

Although
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on January 16, St. Lawrence
University will hold a service to mark the holiday on Monday, January
23, the first day of classes in the spring 2006 semester. The service
will be in Gunnison Memorial
Chapel on campus, beginning at 5 p.m. and will feature Honorary
Degree Recipient The Rev. Joan Brown Campbell and St. Lawrence
graduate David Blanchard '80. Both speakers will remain on campus
for academic residencies during the week as part of the University's
Sesquicentennial.For

"Time
Studies," an exhibition of photographs by Mark
Klett '74, will be in the Richard
F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University from Monday, January
23, through Saturday, February 25. Klett will give a lecture on his
work on Monday, February 6, at 7 p.m.; it is open to the public, free
of charge. The exhibition and his lecture are part of the University's
Sesquicentennial celebration. For

in our own 7,000-piece art collection? Here's your chance to find
out. An exhibition called "One-of-a-Kind: Art and Artifacts from
the Permanent Collection" will be in the Richard
F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University from Monday, January
23, to Saturday, February 25. This exhibition is part of the University's
Sesquicentennial Celebration.

Stuart Dybek will speak and read from his work in an appearance at
St. Lawrence University on Thursday, January 26, at 8 p.m. in the
Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall, the first event in the University's
Writers Series for 2006. It is open to the public, free of charge.

on campus and around the world--watch for details! Charter Day is
St. Lawrence's official birthday, the date in 1856 New York State
granted the University's charter, after years of hard work by Canton
citizens and leaders of the Universalist church.
