Student Profiles
Stella Han ’10

As the newly elected secretary of the Thelomathesian Society, St. Lawrence’s student government organization, Stella Han ’10 combines her organizational skills and her interests in campus issues.  She says she ran for the position because she wanted to be more involved on campus and because “it will be a very rewarding and challenging experience.”

Han’s responsibilities include recording and maintaining the minutes for all Senate and Executive Board meetings, as well as keeping the attendance roster of each group.

“As secretary, I type abnormally fast during the Senate meetings in order to catch what the members say. I also need to distinguish what’s important enough to type into the minutes, but usually everything is because student input is a must,” said Han. “Great organizational skills are needed to keep the minutes easy enough to read and to keep them in a place for easy access.”

The “hottest topic” in “Thelmo” is the discussion of the new pub on campus, mainly “where it would be, how it would look, what atmosphere it would have,” according to Han.

Han, of Tamuning, Guam, is a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Guam. An anthropology major, she is the secretary for Alpha Phi Omega, a national coed service fraternity; the events coordinator for the Society of United Laurentians (SOUL); a member of the Anthropology Club; and the community assistant for the Plaisance College First-Year Program unit.  She is also a new member of Chi Omega sorority.  She hopes to study archaeology in Kenya through the University’s Summerterm program.
