Eloise Grout ’07 of Portland, OR, makes
the most of so many opportunities. “I have found plenty
of opportunities at St. Lawrence, including the chance to study
on St. Lawrence’s program in Spain all this
year.”
Its international programs attracted Grout to
St. Lawrence. But she also wanted a school that would challenge
her and where she could connect with people who would help her
learn and grow. “Some of my favorite memories here
at St. Lawrence revolve around the friendships I’ve
made,” Grout
says. “We especially like to go to Lampson Falls, a nearby
preserve, and other natural areas.”
Grout feels lucky to have
met such great friends at St. Lawrence and says this is the result
of double-majoring in psychology and Spanish and
her involvement in so many organizations. She is
involved in Model United Nations and Kappa Delta Sigma sorority,
and this spring was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, an academic
and leadership honorary society. She also volunteers at Reachout,
a crisis center in Potsdam, NY, about 10 miles from Canton.
Grout is interested in the field of human resources because, she says, “I
love working with people.” She plans on attending graduate
school after college, but would like to take a year off after
graduation and live abroad.
