Patricia Ellis, MSN FNP BC

Patricia is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds a Masters as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and a post-masters certificate in Family Practice. She has more than 30 years medical experience in a variety of settings including critical care, acute trauma care, neurology, emergency medicine and oncology. Most recently, and prior to coming to SLU, Pat was employed as a family nurse practitioner at a rural clinic that aided the populations of St. Lawrence County.

Health and Counseling Winter Break Hours

December 22 – January 7: There will not be an on—call counselor available. If you are experiencing an emergency and you are off campus, please go to your nearest emergency room. If you are on campus, your options include contacting Safety & Security at 229-5555, the hotline at Reachout of St. Lawrence County at 265-2422, or Canton Rescue/Canton Potsdam Hospital at 265-3300.

Flu Shots Available

Flu vaccines are now available in the Health Center. Students can stop by during office hours to get vaccinated. There is a $20 charge for the vaccine that can be charged to your student account.

Gastrointestinal Upset Information

The Diana B. Torrey '82 Health and Counseling Center has seen a significant number of students with gastrointestinal upset this week, including a small number of severe cases. St. Lawrence County Health Department staff are reporting similar cases at nursing homes and public schools. We will continue to monitor the situation, work with county health officials, and report updates as they are available.

There is a doctrine of the common good on this campus.  It is a habit as deeply rooted in the university’s founding as is its liberal arts heritage.  Simply, we care about each other.  If your friend, roommate, classmate or someone you see in the library, on the practice field or in the dining hall needs help, reach out.  We have many resources for mental health.
