Greek Speak

Greek Speak

Greek Speak is the St. Lawrence newsletter about Greek Life on campus published by the Panhellenic Council and Greek Council.

Greek Speak will serve as a means of giving the St. Lawrence community a better idea of what Greek Life is and what we’re up to. By providing updates from separate chapters as well as news on col-laborative projects including all Greek individuals, we want to show St. Lawrence what the Greek system is all about.

Student Organization Storage Policy

The Student Organization Storage Policy has been updated to better serve groups who need storage space for their events and to ensure better communication about responsibility surrounding the use of the space. The storage available to student organizations and clubs in Student Center Room #114 is a short term storage option for groups to store items. The storage room is not secure so please note that organizations/clubs are storing items at their own risk.

TIPs and the Event Registration Process

TIPS monitors are required for both alcohol and special events.

  • TIPS monitors at alcohol events are required to assist in monitoring the consumption and use of alcohol at the event.
  • At special events, TIPS monitors are required because of the large number of people in attendance.

Social Host Information

Social Hosts

Social Hosts are individuals who register an alcohol event or special event. Only Social Hosts who are registering an event where alcohol will be present, must be 21+years of age and TIPS trained. Social Hosts registering a special event do not need to meet an age requirement, nor do they need to be TIPS trained. In addition, all Social Hosts and organizations associated with the event must be in good standing with the University for an event to be approved.

Student Center Storage Room Policy for Student Organizations

Sullivan Student Center Storage Room (SC#114)

Student organizations registered with the Office of Student Activities and Leadership may use the Sullivan Student Center Storage Room (SC#114) for short term event storage. Student organizations who store items in the storage room do so at their own risk and are responsible for the items in the space; as the room is not a secure location. The Office of Student Activities and Leadership will provide storage to organizations as long as there is shelving space available in the facility.

Accommodations

As natural during busy weekends on-campus, it does become more difficult to find accommodations in the area. We hope to provide with you a few resources to assist you with finding the right location for you and your family to stay during the weekend.

Please note that starting the search for housing earlier, July or early August, will assist you in being successful in reserving accommodations that best fit your needs.
