Dr. Carol Bate

Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Career Services

Carol has been leading career services at St. Lawrence since the summer of 2001.  Her areas of career advising specialty include graduate school and pre-law advising and international student advising.  Before coming to St. Lawrence she worked in career services at Cornell College (Iowa) and in student activities at Thiel College. She also worked for several years in retail management.  Carol received her doctorate from the University of Iowa, her master of arts degree from Bowling Green State University, and her bachelor of arts degree from Allegheny College.

Professional Etiquette Dinner

The 16th Annual Professional Etiquette Dinner will take place on Thursday, November 1st at 5pm at the Best Western, in the Laurentian Room. This year we will be joined by 15+ members of the Alumni Executive Council.

Registration is required by October 24th, and the event is limited to 50 participants. You must visit the Career Services Office (Student Center 202) to register. Payment of $10 in cash is required to sign up. Cancellations after Thursday, October 25th will be charged the full price of the meal, $20.65.

INFORMATION FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

New York City Semester

The New York City Semester Program kicked off its inaugural semester in January 2012!  The program serves two groups of students, those interested in finance and those interested in the arts.  The internship experience is central to the program making it a unique and invaluable learning experience for undergraduates selected to participate.  Students work at their internship site three full days per week for 12 weeks, while also taking a course on NYC as a global city and either a course in Finance or a course on Arts Management.
