Michaela Stewart ’08, Averill Park, NY, loves
the people at St. Lawrence so much that she spends all her time working
with and for students, faculty and even alumni.
Michaela has been working as an admissions tour guide since
her freshman year and won a competitive position as an admissions
intern. She enjoys being part of the “constant cycle
of activities at admissions: doing something all the time” and “interacting
with senior staff at admissions and the University,” she says.
A government major, Michaela is assisting Munsil Professor
Emeritus of Government Robert Wells to write his book on
New York State Politics and Government. She enjoys this opportunity. “I
love the fact that professors are here because they love to teach.
They are more your mentors than teachers,” she says.
Michaela’s love for the campus and people has definitely kept
her busy even during the school year, as she was elected the
President of Student Alumni Association (SAA). Michaela
loves to hear alumni stories and wants to bring back some of the ideas
the alumni had when they were on campus.
And more? Michaela works in the Writing Center at Owen
D. Young Library or leads Panhellenic Council meetings, for which
she is the vice president. She’s a member of Delta Delta Delta
sorority.
