Camille
Partin ’06 of Manchester, NH: her campus job is to help other
students find jobs. And more.
For some students, the Office of Career Services and Leadership
Education is a place to go to work on resumes and cover letters,
as well as look for jobs and internships. For Camille Partin ’06,
working as a peer advisor in Career Services has allowed her to see
the many other benefits Career Services has to offer. “As
peer advisors, we do a number of different things,” she says. “We
offer one-on-one services for students, we send out newsletters,
and we keep track of alumni in order to provide students with advice
about different careers.”
After going through extensive training, peer advisors
hold office hours each week as well as devote time to continuing their
training to ensure they are offering students the best advice possible. Camille
has worked on various projects such as the undergraduate career newsletter
and has led various workshops. She is currently the editor of
the senior career newsletter.
Since her sophomore year, Camille has enjoyed working as a peer advisor,
but it has also allowed her to grow as well. “Being
a peer advisor is a multi-faceted job and has allowed me to
develop my own career skills and given me leadership opportunities
I may not have had otherwise,” she says.
Camille majors in geology and environmental studies and
graduated from Manchester High School West.
