Director of Student Activities and Leadership Amanda Mereau hopes to help students “gain skills that will assist them in their life journey beyond St. Lawrence.” She works with students in many ways on campus and says “I really enjoy developing positive relationships with students and seeing them grow from the experiences that Student Activities has to offer.”
Mereau works on behalf of, and with, students by coordinating the Orientation program for new students, each fall’s Family Weekend and the annual Leadership Conference. She also advises the Junior and Senior Class Councils; Panhellenic Council, representing sorority women; the Greek Council; and SLUSAF, the SLU Student Activities Fund. She says that she and her colleagues “work regularly with all student organizations in planning and implementing their events on campus.”
Mereau adds that she has also been working on a few new projects, including the new student pub on campus, to be called Pub 56 in recognition of St. Lawrence’s founding year, 1856, and “working with the Java (coffeehouse) and KSLU students on renovating a new space for them.”
Off campus, or sometimes on, Mereau says she enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, walking her dog Ollie, exercising, participating in outdoor activities such as skiing and snowshoeing), attending concerts and traveling.
