Student Life Profiles
Zoë Bludevich ’08

The moment Zoë Bludevich drove onto the St. Lawrence campus, she got “the feeling” and knew that this was the school for her. She kicked off her first year by joining several clubs and activities and has not let up since.

She started by joining the women’s soccer team. “I have been playing soccer since I was six,” Zoë said. “I love the game, the exercise, the commitment and the team. Playing soccer here at SLU was the comfortable thing for me to do.”

After her first season ended, Zoë focused on things that she never had the chance to do back at Champlain Valley Union High School in her hometown of Colchester, VT. She joined the St. Lawrence student government organization, the Thelomathesian Society, and “instead of complaining about campus life and annoyances, was able to be proactive and actually make a difference.” Zoë climbed the ranks and is now serving as vice-president.

During Spring Break of her first year, Zoë traveled to New Orleans with Habitat for Humanity and worked on two houses that were nearly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. “It was one of the most memorable experiences I will have at SLU,” Zoë said. “It taught me that you can make a difference even if it’s in a small way. We made a huge difference in two families’ lives.”

As Zoë settled into St. Lawrence life, she became a tour guide, joined Delta Delta Delta sorority, and continued to involve herself in the St. Lawrence community that made the school so attractive to her in the first place.

Zoë’s work in New Orleans and with the St. Lawrence student government has provided incentive for wanting to get involved in government (her major) in the future. She plans to continue her education by going to law school or graduate school.
