Panhellenic Recruitment for Sororities
The Panhellenic Council coordinates a formal fall recruitment process beginning in September that will assist you in learning about the four Greek organizations for women on campus and what it means to be Greek at SLU.
In order to be eligible to participate in recruitment and join a sorority, you must be a regularly enrolled, full-time student in good standing with St. Lawrence University with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA or the last two consecutive semesters (not including summer term) of a 2.5, and 9 credits.
Registering for recruitment does not commit you to join a chapter. All it does is gets you started with the recruitment process and allows you to participate in recruitment events. You must register by Saturday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. in order to participate in recruitment.
The fall recruitment schedule is posted here for you to look over. Events are all mandatory. However, we understand that classes and work commitments do come first. Talk over your schedule with your recruitment counselor during House Tours, or with Erin Sweeney, the Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor (easwee09@stlawu.edu) if you need to be excused from an event.
Please note that attending Greek 101, registering online, or participating in recruitment does not commit you to a sorority. You can participate in recruitment up until Friday evening's Preference Card Signing event before you will need to make a decision on whether or not you want to join a sorority at St. Lawrence. We want to give you the time and opportunity to make sure this is the right decision for you!
If you have any additional questions about recruitment, please feel free to contact Erin Sweeney, Panhellenic Recruitment Chair. We are here to support you throughout the recruitment process.
We look forward to meeting you and assist you in becoming Greek at SLU!
Fraternity Recruitment
The men do a more informal recruitment structure than the women. The recruitment events and timing differ depending on each chapter. When you arrive on campus you will see advertisements, posters and more information from each chapter. Contact the Greek Council Fraternity Recruitment chair, Michael Burnett, or any male Greek member if you have questions on how to find out more information.
