I received my master’s degree in counseling at the University of Utah in 1997. My internship was at the University of Utah Alcohol and Drug Abuse Clinic. Since then I have worked in behavioral treatment centers and community settings. I also worked at a special needs educational setting where I focused on counseling students of various ages. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York. I moved to Canton in 2005 and started working at the Diana B. Torrey Health Center in 2008. My areas of clinical interest include identity development, social relationships, anxiety, depression, self- esteem, and recovery from sexual assault. In counseling I take a collaborative approach with students and focus on creating a nonjudgmental setting to address their concerns. The theoretical approach I take is an integration of interpersonal, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral techniques. In my personal life I spend most of my free time focusing on my three young children. I also enjoy yoga, running, reading, movies, and baking.
