JUNIOR: Goal Setting, Gaining Experience & Grad School Planning
GOALS:
- Gain practical experience in your field of choice
- Begin researching graduate school possibilities
- Develop basic job search skills
- Explore selected career options in depth
WHAT TO DO:
- Attend Internship Boot Camp or How to Find an Internship presentations to develop skills in searching and applying for internships
- Search for Alumni-Sponsored Internship opportunities and all other internships on SAINTSLink
- Attend the Graduate and Professional School Fair and visit appropriate web sites to determine testing dates and locations for graduate admission tests
- Update your resume and draft a cover letter for a critique from a professional staff member
- Use Career Services online resources to explore and educate yourself on career options: Spotlight on Careers, Career Search, SAINTSLink
- Apply for an Internship Fellowship to support an unpaid or underpaid internship
- Register for the Professional Etiquette Dinner in the fall
- Attend an Alumni Networking Event and Laurentians-in-Residence, and participate in Shadow-a-Saint opportunities
