FIRST YEAR:  Resource Orientation & Self-Exploration

GOALS: 

  1. Become aware of your interests, abilities, goals, and values
  2. Become involved in your community
  3. Learn about interesting careers                                                                                                      
  4. Take a variety of courses

WHAT TO DO:

  • Explore the Career Services website and Exploration section
  • Meet with a staff member to take a Self-Assessment to learn more about your skills, interests and personality, explore career paths and talk about major selection
  • Visit the Career Services office to look over the Career Resource Library
  • Fill out a Resume Worksheet, look over the Resume Guidebook and make an appointment with a Peer Advisor to use Optimal Resume to begin creating a professional resume
  • Research the Course Catalog to investigate majors and classes that interest you
  • Register on SAINTSLink
  • Meet with your academic advisor and professors to explore options for your course selection
