Withdrawals, Transfers, Leaves of Absence
A student who plans to withdraw from the University for personal
and medical reasons, military service or who plans to transfer to another
university must notify the office of the vice president and dean of
student life and co-curricular education. The student must meet
with a member of the student life staff and complete a withdrawal request
form. This office will determine the student’s official
date of withdrawal. The refund policy for students who withdraw
is contained in the University Catalog (page 227-228), as
well as outlined on the student financial services web site (web.stlawu.edu/sfs). The
readmission process is explained in this handbook.
A leave of absence may be granted to a student who is in good academic
and social standing. Such a student may be readmitted at the
start of a term if: readmission is within three terms of the student’s
leaving, the university receives a 60-day written notice of the student’s
intention to return and there is housing and classroom space available. Only
one course per semester may be transferred to St. Lawrence while a
student is on a leave of absence. The refund policy for students
who take a leave of absence is contained in the University Catalog (page
227-228), as well as outlined on the student
financial services web site. The readmission process is explained
in this handbook.
