Transcripts
The registrar’s office maintains a permanent
academic record for each student.
A. The St. Lawrence Transcript:
The registrar will issue an official transcript of the student’s permanent
record, subject to the following conditions:
1. The
student must request the transcript in writing, either on the transcript request
form available from the registrar’s office or by letter. Oral requests
and requests from others cannot be honored.
2. The
registrar will send the transcript directly to the designated recipient. Official
transcripts may not be faxed.
3. Requests
are usually processed in the order received, usually within one week, except
during end-of-semester grade recording, registration, and graduation periods,
when mailing may be postponed two or three weeks until active student academic
records are up-to-date.
4. Transcripts
will not be issued unless all financial obligations have been met.
B. Transcripts from Other
Institutions
1. Transcripts
of work to be transferred to St. Lawrence should be requested from the institution
where the credit was earned. The registrar of that institution should
mail the transcript directly to the St. Lawrence University registrar.
2. St.
Lawrence University cannot forward copies of academic transcripts from
other institutions, including colleges and secondary schools, nor is
it expected that other institutions will forward copies of the St. Lawrence transcript.
