Keys for Student Clubs and Organizations

How to Obtain Keys to your Organization's Office

Two keys have been issued for each student organization that has an assigned office. Presidents or coordinators of these organizations determine who in their group will have keys (Presidents usually assign the first key to themselves and the second to a member who needs regular access to the office).

To get your key, go to Student Activities & Leadership Information Desk in the Student Center, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and fill out a key request form. By signing the form you are taking responsibility for the key.

At the end of the year, or when your term as the organization's leader ends, you will be expected to return your key to Student Activities & Leadership. All student organization office keys must be returned at the end of the academic year. If you lose or fail to return your key at the end of the year, you will be charged a fee assessed for lost key(s). This charge will be based on the cost associated with having to completely replace the lock on the office for security reasons.

Early each semester, Presidents should submit a list to Student Activities & Leadership of members who have permission to use offices. This will allow members who do not have keys, but who nevertheless need to use offices, access to those offices. Members on the list submitted to Student Activities & Leadership can get keys by turning in their IDs (IDs are returned when keys are returned).
