Susanna Whitaker-Rahilly scored twice in the first ten minutes of the second half and Clement added two of her three goals as the Saints steadily pulled away from the 0-5 Lakers.

ROCHESTER HOLDS OFF SAINTS IN LIBERTY LEAGUE WOMEN’S LAX

March 25: Goaltender Leslie Dube made 13 saves on 17 shots as the University of Rochester held off St. Lawrence University 8-4 in a Liberty League women’s lacrosse game at the Saints’ North Country Field Saturday afternoon.

Rochester, 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Liberty League, swept its weekend series in the North Country, building a 5-2 halftime lead and then turning back a second half Saint rally.

Rochester scored the game’s first five goals, two of them by Christina Montano, before the Saints answered with four straight of their own. Lis Reade cut the Rochester lead to 5-3 with 6:35 gone in the second half and Kathryn Durki made it a 5-4 game with 19:26 to go, but Dube came up big on a series of Saint shots to keep SLU from pulling even.

Lindsay Dakin’s second of the game gave the Yellowjackets a 6-4 lead with 11:20 to play, Abby Woodward scored off a free position with 6:57 to go and Alanna Tievsky scored her second of the day to put the game away with 1:46 to go.

Cynthia Saul turned in a solid 14 save performance for the Saints who fall to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the Liberty League.
