SAINTS CRUISE TO WIN AT WELLS April 28: A total of 16 players scored goals as St. Lawrence University’s women’s lacrosse team completed its 2007 season with a 20-0 win at Wells College on Saturday.
The Saints, who finish the year 6-8 with two straight wins, scored 11 goals in the first ten minutes of the game and outshot Wells 37-4 for the game.
Julie Wooters scored three goals and Amanda Forbes and Alanna Watters had two each. Patty Ball had four assists, Lexi Wisnowski three and Anna Parrott two. Wisnowski was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week after solid performances against both St. John Fisher and Wells.
Goalies Becky Timbers and Lizzy Freund shared the shutout each making one save in a half of action. Hilary Lukas had two saves for Wells in 17 minutes of action and Allie Inga made six saves the rest of the way.
Senior Kathryn Durki opened the scoring from Ball just 17 seconds into the game and the Saints scored six times in the first five minutes as Wooters scored two of her three goals in that run.
The Saints won 18 of 22 draw controls and were perfect on clears at seven for seven.
