SAINTS ROLL TO WIN OVER OSWEGO March 27: Amanda Forbes and Julie Wooters scored four goals each and Patty Ball added three as the Saint women’s lacrosse team rolled to a 18-6 win over Oswego on North Country Field Tuesday.
The Saints, now 2-3, broke open a close game with two three-goal flurries in the first half. Wooters, Lis Reade and Alanna Waters scored in a span of 59 seconds to give the Saints a 4-1 lead five minutes into play, and after Oswego cut the lead to 4-2, Mary Jane Sweetland, Wooters and Kathryn Durki all scored unassisted goals to make it a 7-2 game.
The Saints led 10-4 at the half and scored the first three goals of the second half to win going away. Reade added two assists to go with her goal and Kat Knickerbocker scored two goals for the Saints. Lexi Wisnowski had a goal and two assists.
Becky Timbers was solid in goal for the Saints, making nine saves and Lizzy Freund played the last 3:34 with two saves as the Saints outshot Oswego 45-25 and controlled 17 of 24 draws in the game. Shannon O’Brien made 16 saves for the Lakers, now 2-2.
