GENESEO GAME POSTPONED April 5: Thursday's scheduled women's lacrosse game at Geneseo has been postponed due to snow. No makeup date has been determined.
SAINTS ROLL TO WIN OVER CLARKSON April 3: The St. Lawrence University women’s lacrosse trio of Amanda Forbes, Alanna Waters and Kathryn Durki combined for 11 goals Tuesday night as the Saints rolled to a 20-13 win over North Country rival Clarkson on soggy North Country Field.
The Saints improve to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty League going into a Thursday game at Geneseo. Clarkson is now 3-6 overall and 1-4 on the season.
SLU used draw controls and a barrage of shots to build a 13-5 halftime lead. The Saints won 15 of 19 draws in the first half and outshot the Golden Knights 34-10. Clarkson goalie Erin Duffy kept her team in the game with 13 of her 20 saves in the first half.
It was a 4-3 game midway through the first half when Kimberly Loucks scored for Clarkson with 16:37 to play, but the Saints went on a three-goal run as Lis Reade, Forbes and Waters scored in a span of just under a minute. Clarkson got one back when Emily Bojarski scored her 26 th of the year with 13:59 to go, but the Saints outscored Clarkson 6-1 in the final 12:30 of the half to build the big halftime lead.
Clarkson outscored the Saints 3-1 in the first five minutes of the second half, but the Saints scored three in a minute for the second time in the game on shots by Waters, Durki and Patty Ball and coasted to the victory. Waters had a seven point game for the Saints with five goals and two assists, Durki had a six point night with four goals and two assists and Forbes scored six goals to lead the Saint attack. Ball had two goals and two assists and Meggie Quackenbush and Lexi Wisnowski added goals for the Saints.
Bojarski and Alicia Chase had three goals and an assist each and Lindsey Grigg had two goals and two assists for the Knights.
Saint goalies Becky Timbers and Lizzy Freund each made two saves in the game as the Saints outshot Clarkson 50-23 overall and 40-17 in shots on goal.
