2006-07: Smith was an outstanding addition to the Saints blue line in her rookie season, making a very smooth transition to collegiate hockey. The Port Perry, Ontario native tallied 14 points in her opening year, including one goal and 13 assists. Smith made her one goal count, though, as it proved to be the game-winning tally against ECACHL rival Harvard on November 4th, 2006. Her discipline at defense was excellent, taking only six minor penalties in 2006-07. For her efforts, she was named to both the ECAC Hockey League and the USCHO.com All-Rookie teams. Smith also showed dedication in the classroom by earning a spot on the ECACHL All-Academic team in her first season.
