
2006-07: Guckian became the predominant starter for the Saints in her junior season, getting the start in 35 of the team's 40 games. The Victor, NY native posted a .908 save percentage and a 2.25 goals against average, good enough for a 24-8-3 overall record. She earned her first career NCAA Tournament win in the Saints 6-2 victory over UNH. Guckian was chosen as the ECAC Hockey League's Goaltender of the Week three times, and earned a spot on the Conference's All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season.
2005-06: As a sophomore, Guckian teamed up with Jessica Moffat to form the top goaltending duo in the country. Guckian’s season stats speak for themselves: 1.27 goals against average, .935 save percentage, and 13-2-2 overall record. Her GAA and save percentage both ranked in the top five in the country at season's end. The Victor, NY native now ranks second All-Time in career shut-outs in school history with eight, six behind Rachel Barrie’s 14 (2000-2004). Guckian also provided the Saints with an impressive eight-game win streak that lasted from December 10th, 2005 to March 11th, 2006, the longest of her career.
2004-2005: Guckian had an impressive start to her career in net for the Saints. She is the first rookie goaltender since 2000-2001 to record 10 or more wins and to play over 1000 minutes. She posted shutouts against Niagara, Wayne State, Yale, and No.3 Dartmouth, breaking the record for shutouts by a freshman netminder. She posts a 2.22 goals against average, a .923 save percentage and a 14-5-2 record. Guckian ranked second in the ECACHL in save percentage, ninth in goals against average and tied for fifth in win percentage. In games at home, she boasts a 1.91 goals against average, a .934 save percentage and a 9-2-1 record. Guckian was named the ECACHL’s Rookie of the Week four times, the Goalie of the Week once, and the USCHO.com/ITECH Defensive Player of the Week once and was named to the 2005 ECACHL All-Rookie Team.
Pre-St. Lawrence
Guckian started in goal for the Buffalo Bisons and the Victor Central Boys Varsity hockey team. She participated in the New York State Empire Games from 2000 to 2003 earning gold, silver and bronze medals. Guckian attended the USA Hockey Girls Select Camp from 2002 to 2004. She is the daughter of Vicki and Mike Guckian. |
