MUZZATTI, BERETTA LEAD SAINTS AT

MT. HOLYOKE

Sept. 23: Alair Muzzatti and Kristen Berretta tied for fifth in a 76-player field and St. Lawrence University’s women’s golf team finished seventh, third among Division III teams, at the 15-team Mt. Holyoke Invitational played at the Orchards Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.

Muzzatti shot back-to-back rounds of 81 for her best collegiate finish thus far while Berretta had her second round in the 70s with a 79 on Sunday to go with a opening 83 for a 162 total.

The Saints were tied for third after day one of the tournament, but slipped back despite a team score just two strokes higher than opening day.

Boston University won the team title with a 663 total while Hartford and Holy Cross tied for second at 666, Williams was fourth at 670, Amherst fifth at 678, Fairfield sixth at 680 and the Saints were seventh at 684,

Kim Sikule shot rounds of 89 and 91 on the difficult Orchards course for a 180 total and tied with teammate Casey Lawton for 45 th. Lawton carded 88 and 92 for her two-day total. Cait Cunningham rounded out the Saint top five with a tie for 59 th with rounds of 93 and 98.

The Saints will play at Cortland on Oct. 1.
