LUDOVICI AND PAVLUS SWEEP WEEKLY LIBERTY LEAGUE AWARDS

Sept. 17: St. Lawrence University graduate student Elizabeth Ludovici and first year student Wendy Pavlus have earned Liberty League recognition after their outstanding races at the Pre-Regionals hosted by NYU. Ludovici captured the conference’s “Performer of the Week” award, while Pavlus was named the “Rookie of the Week.”

 

Ludovici raced in a time of 22:15.2 at the Pre-Regionals on Saturday, landing in 5th place overall out of 209 competitors. The Lyons Falls , NY native's time helped the Saints earn 5th place out of the 24 teams.

 

Pavlus, meanwhile, continued to impress in her rookie campaign, as the Tupper Lake, NY native earned 6th place overall. Her time of 22:32.6 put her just behind Ludovici. It was the second time each athlete has been recognized by the league this season.

 

The Saints will be in action again this Saturday, September 22nd at the Connecticut College Invitational. The race time is set for 11:00am.

 

 

SAINT WOMEN FIFTH AT NYU REGIONAL PREVIEW

Sept. 15: Liz Ludovici and Wendy Pavlus finished fifth and sixth in a 257 runner field and St. Lawrence University’s women’s cross country team was fifth among 24 teams at the NYU Regional Preview race at New York’s Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday.

 

Geneseo won the women’s team title in the 6000 meter race which was conducted on the same course which will host the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships in November. Geneseo scored 39 points with Dickinson second with 80, Johns Hopkins third with 105, Ithaca fourth with 108 and the Saints fifth with 157. The College of New Jersey was sixth with 161 points and RPI seventh with 197.

 

Ludovici ran the course in 22:16 to lead the Saints and Pavlus was 17 seconds back in sixth place, finishing in 22:33. Johannah Ludington was the third Siant finisher in 25 th overall, running 23:30 while Chelsea Nuffer was 38 th in 23:52 and Chelsea McKenzie was 83 rd in 25:47. Hillary St. John was the sixth Saint finisher, 93 rd overall in 26:09 and Katrina Loignon completed the Saint top seven in 97 th in 26:27.
