LUDOVICI, PAVLUS LEAD SAINTS TO 6 TH STRAIGHT LEAGUE TITLE

Sept. 29: Liz Ludovici won her second Liberty League individual championship with her apparent successor just behind in second and St. Lawrence University’s women’s cross country team won its sixth straight Liberty League Team title on the 6 kilometer course at Clarkson in Potsdam on Saturday.

 

Ludovici, who was the 2005 champion, but did not run last year, led a 77 runner field with a time of 22:48 and posted her fourth Liberty League top four finish. She was fourth as a rookie, second in her sophomore season, champion in her junior year and repeated her title as a graduate student this season.

 

Pavlus ran 23:10 for her best finish of the year and fourth straight top six finish. Johannah Ludington finished fourth in 23:28, Chelsea Nuffer, who is running with an injury, finished eighth in 24:58 and Hillary St. John finished 27 th overall, scoring 24 th with a time of 26:24 to complete the Saint scoring.

 

SLU finished with 39 points while RPI was second with 50 followed by Hamilton with 60, Vassar with 71, Union with 159, Clarkson with 173 and William Smith with 191.

 

Other Saint finishers included Katrina Loignon, who was 28 th overall in 26:25 with Lyndsay Bisaccio 29 th in 25:41. Chelsea McKenize was 55 th in 28:00 and Catherine LePage was 57 th in 28:05.
