SEASON SUMMARY

2004-2005 ended with the St. Lawrence University crew team boating its largest and fastest team ever. The men’s team was undefeated in the regular season and had an impressive showing at NYS Championships (a race which combines Division I,II, and III crews). The novice men were 6 th in the state, and the varsity men were 7 th. On the women’s side the varsity women were undefeated in the regular season and the novice women lost only one race. At States the varsity women were 6 th and the novice women placed 4th.

Both women’s crews were invited to the ECAC Invitational. Unfortunately bad weather finished off their seasons with the novice women’s events being canceled and the varsity women only getting one heat in (two heats before they canceled the event).

2005-2006 will see continued growth, development and speed out of the Saint’s crew team. The team will be very young with no seniors on the men’s side and three seniors on the women’s side. An incoming class of 24 recruited athletes will only help to bolster our numbers and the competitiveness at practice. Also, former captain of Saint’s Crew, Sarah Rademacher will return to the team as an assistant coach.

"We’re looking forward to a fast and fun fall rowing out of the beautiful St. Lawrence University Boathouse," said Head Coach Nick Hughes.
