POTSDAM RALLIES TO UPEND SAINTS 3-2
Oct. 24: Junior middle hitter Jamie Kraus had 15 kills and 11 blocks and sophomore middle hitter Jillian Coon had 14 kills and six blocks to help Potsdam come from a 2-0 deficit to beat St. Lawrence 3-2 in a volleyball match at SLU’s Burkman Gymnasium Wednesday night.
Potsdam, which lost the first two games of he match 30-24 and 31-29, came back with 30-23 and 30-26 wins to force a deciding fifth game and won that 15-7 to improve to 13-22 on the season.
Sophomore Priska Wilson had 28 digs and freshman setter Kim Plummer had 51 assists in the match for the Bears. The Saints, now 17-14, were led by Jessica Lucky, who had 10 kills and 37 digs. Kelly O’Connell added 12 kills while Tami Couch had 20 digs. Abby Rose had 45 assists, seven kills and 10 digs.
SLU will return to action at the NYSWCAA Tournament at NYU on Saturday, playing fifth seed and host NYU in the opening round at 10 a.m.
