SAINTS SPLIT AT NYSWCAA, TIE FOR 9 TH Oct. 27: St. Lawrence University’s volleyball team lost its opening match in the 2007 NYSWCAA volleyball tournament to host New York University, but bounced back with a win over Oneonta and finished the tournament tied for ninth place on Saturday.
The Saints lost to the fifth seeded Violets 30-21, 30-28 and 30-7 in their first match of the tournament, but bounced back with a 32-30, 29-31, 30-26 and 30-22 win over ninth seeded Oneonta.
Julia Congdon had six kills, three service aces and 10 digs to lead the Saints against NYU. Jessica Lucky had 14 kills and 23 digs while Abby Rose added 34 assists, four service aces and 19 digs and Congdon had seven kills, five aces and 19 digs in the win over Oneonta.
The Saints will take a 18-15 record into a Tuesday home match against Paul Smith’s.
