2007-2008: After spending first semester abroad, Gerritsen came back fierce as ever and ready to compete for the Saints. Against Alfred, the Baltimore, MD native rebroke the school record in the 200 breaststroke, which was broken by another teammate later on at the NYSWCAA Championships. At the meet in February, Gerritsen earned a spot in the final heat of the 200 breaststroke, where she placed seventh overall . In the 100 breast, the junior earned a lane in the consolation final, where she won the heat to place ninth overall. She also placed 23rd in the 200 IM.
2006-2007: Alida had another outstanding season for the Saints as a sophomore and was the Liberty League champion in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She also finished sixth in the 200 IM in the Liberty Leauge meet and was a key performer on relays throughout the season. She was 5th in the 100 breaststroke and 7th in the 200 breaststroke at the NYSWCAA Championships. She was a double winner in the dual meet with Clarkson.
2005-2006: Gerritsen solidified herself as one of the Saints premier rookies with an oustanding performance at the State Championships. She placed 13th in the 200 IM (2:19.63) and 10th place finish in the 100 Breaststroke. Gerritsen also posted a 12th place finish in the 200 Breaststroke (2:35.72). She was also a key contributor in the Medley relays and the Sprint Freestyle relays.

At the Baltimore Polytchnic Institute
Gerritsen won the “senior superlative” for most athletic, and was also named captain of the swim team, captain of the soccer team, and captain of the lacrosse team. For her success in the pool, Gerritsen was named MVP for swimming in both her junior and senior years. Alida was also a member of the National Honor Society and the recipient of the Williams College Book Award. Gerritsen was a National Merit Scholar and is currently the PDS scholarship recipient from SLU.
