![]() SAINTS SPLIT DUAL MEETS WITH ALFRED Jan. 27: Kate Farrell was a double winner in her final collegiate dual meet and helped St. Lawrence University’s women’s swim team to a 137-86 win over Alfred University at the St. Lawrence pool Saturday afternoon. The Saints had to settle for a split on the day as the Alfred men edged the Saints 139-103.
Farrell won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.25 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.52 for her two wins. Seniors Megan Bernier, Ashley McCarthy and Becca Roy also scored in their final dual for the Saints as McCarthy was second and Bernier third in the 1650 freestyle and Roy finished third in the 200 butterfly.
Abby Lynch was also a double winner for the Saint women with a 25.84 win in the 50 free and a 56.43 swim in the 100 free. Other Saint victories came from Ashley Bogosian who swam a 2:04.52 200 free, Devan Meserve with a 2:27.70 200 fly, Kim Myers who went 2:24.87 in the 200 back and from Kim Watcke, who won the 500 free in 5:31.17. The Saints also won the 400 medley relay in 4:16.95 with a team of Watcke, Alida Gerritsen, Lynch and Bogosian.
Jason Johnson was a double winner for the Saint men as he won both the one and three meter diving competition. He won the one meter board with a score of 239.80 and totaled 237.60 points on the three meter board.
Other winners for the Saint men included Robo Ibler, who won the 50 free in 22.96 to go with a second in the 100 free; Mike Trumbower won the 1650 in 18:08.29, Matt Kirkpatrick took the 200 fly in 2:12.94 and Chris Woolston won the 200 free in 1:50.67.
The Saint women will return to action Feb. 14-17 when they swim in the NYSWCAA Championships in Syracuse while the men will swim in the state championships the following weekend.
