WASSERSTEIN AND SPENCER LEAD SAINTS,

BOGOSIAN REMAINS IMPRESSIVE

Nov. 5: The St. Lawrence University Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams both had tough meets on Saturday versus the Golden Flyers of Nazareth. The men prevailed 133-96 behind strong performance from senior co-captain Brian Wasserstein and first year student Garrett Spencer, while the women fell 137-97, despite another strong showing from first year student Ashley Bogosian.

Brian Wasserstein, an extremely versatile swimmer for the Saints, won the 200 IM in 2:25.85 and the 100 Back in 1:06.54. His leadership paid off, as the other Saint swimmers responded. First Year student Garrett Spencer, who was selected as the Liberty League's Rookie of the Week last week, was once again victorious, this time in the 200 (2:10.86) and 400 (4:38.29) Freestyle races. Andrew Ford was also key to the Saints' success, as he won both diving events (1 and 3 M).

Ashley Bogosian, much like her fellow first year student Garrett Spencer, has been a huge asset to the Saints thusfar. Against Nazareth, Bogosian again was solid, collecting two more victories in the 50 Free (29.62) and the 100 Free (1:03.84). Ashley McCarthy also won an event for the Saints (200 Free in 2:24.05), but in the end, the Golden Flyers were too much and were able to defeat the Saints.

With the win, the men's team improved to 2-1, while the women fall to that same record with the loss. The Saints will be in action again in the Augsbury Natatorium on Friday, November 11th when they host the University of Rochester at 6:00pm.

SPENCER AND BOGOSIAN EARN

LIBERTY LEAGUE HONORS

Nov. 4: First Year students Garrett Spencer of Honeoye Falls, NY and Ashley Bogosian of Massena, NY were honored by the Liberty League, both selected as "Liberty League Rookie of the Week" for Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving.

Garrett Spencer won two key races for the Saints in a tight contest versus Clarkson at the Augsbury Natatorium. He was clocked at 11:06.80 in his 1000 Freestyle victory, and then at 5:25.45 in the 500 Free win. Although Clarkson defeated St. Lawrence, Spencer was important in helping the men's team pick up their first win of the year over the Skidmore Thoroughbreds. He again won both the 1000 and 500 Freestyle events, this time in times of 11:11.07 and 5:24.27, respectively.

Ashley Bogosian also had a stellar debut for the Saints, helping the 200 Medley Relay team kick off the meet versus Clarkson with a win in 1:57.50. She would also help the women's team in their victory over the arch rival Golden Knights with a win in the 100 Freestyle in 57.13. Bogosian would again be clutch for the Saints, this time in helping them get to a 2-0 record. She picked up two more wins, this time in both the 100 (58.14) and 50 (26.85) Freestyle races to help the women's team defeat Skidmore.

Spencer and Bogosian will look to continue their success as the Saints visit the Golden Flyers of Nazareth at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 5th.
