At Gouverneur
Girard was a three-sport athlete, participating in women's soccer, basketball, and softball. Though the Gouverneur, NY native collected numerous academic and athletic awards for each sport, her achievements were greatest on the softball diamond. Girard was named a 2nd Team All-North player as a sophomore, and proceeded to be named First Team All-League the following two seasons. She was the team MVP as a junior and senior, and was an All Academic Scholar Athlete and Gatorade's "Will to Win Award" recipient.
