SAAC ELECTS NEW OFFICERS FOR 2009-10

Mar. 10: The St. Lawrence University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has elected their new trio of officers to lead them throughout the 2009-10 season. Meg Howard '10, who represents the Women's Alpine Ski team, was named the new President of the organization, while Matt Raley '11 of the Men's Hockey team and Tara Akstull '10 of the Women's Hockey team will serve as Vice President and Secretary respectively.

The new officers take the reigns from seniors Lyndsay Bisaccio (President), Carson Duggan (Vice President) and Lauren Sischo (Secretary).

"I am extremely grateful for the time, efforts and ideas that Lyndsay, Carson and Lauren brought to SAAC over the last year," said co-advisor to SAAC Franco Bari. "However, I'm excited to work with our new officers in continuing our efforts to strengthen the bonds between student-athletes and the community."

Alyssa Pirinelli '10 (women's track and field) and Johannah Ludington '10 (women's Nordic skiing) are co-chairs of SAAC's Student-Athlete Welfare Committee, while Mary Jane Sweetland '10 (women's lacrosse) and Chelsea Nuffer '10 (women's cross country) will co-chair the group's Marketing and Promotion team. Finally, the Community Outreach chairs include both Raley and Brittany Parham '10 (women's basketball).
