SAINTS ATTEND 2006 NCAA DIVISION III

STUDENT-ATHLETE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Jan. 24: This past Friday, St. Lawrence University was represented by Mike Wieneke, Yralee Mendez, and Neil Cifuentes at the 2006 NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Leadership Conference. It was the inaugural appearance for St. Lawrence at the conference.

The trio attended the three day forum at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, NJ from January 20 th-22 nd. The mission of the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Leadership Conference is to prepare student-athletes for leadership in a diverse and dynamic society. 

Student-athletes, coaches and athletic administrators work together to facilitate critical dialogue, address Division III specific issues and create the partnerships needed to impact positive change at the campus, conference and divisional level.

Wieneke and Mendez both represent their respective sports, crew and softball, as executive committee members on the St. Lawrence Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAC). Cifuentes serves as an assistant coach to both the men’s and women’s soccer teams. He also is the Coordinator of Student/Athlete Support Services.
