Committee Initiatives of the 2003-2004 academic year include:

-- Community Service Events

-- “The Giving Tree” fundraiser in the fall of 2003 raised over $900.00 and many toys for families in the local Canton community. All of the 32 sport teams participated in raising funds.

--National Student-Athlete Day

This is recognized annually on April 6 th and celebrates the success of student-athletes who excel in their respective sport, excel in the classroom, and take an active and positive role in community service.

-- Recognizing National Girls & Women’s in Sports Day- February 4 th, 2004

-- Athletic Department Banquet at the end of the Spring semester & Recognition throughout the academic year

-- Attended the Leadership & NCAA Diversity Workshops

-- Participated in the “Reclaiming the Game” introspective Study Groups in conjunction with athletic department staff, St. Lawrence University faculty and Senior Staff.

-- Communication of NCAA Legislation Proposals

-- UCAA League Issues and conference calls

-- In both 2003 & 2004 we did fund raisers and benefits for a fellow student athlete undergoing cancer treatments
