Franco Bari

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Advisor

Franco Bari, a 1998 graduate of St. Lawrence University and a National All-American for the men’s soccer team, was named the women’s soccer head coach for the fall of 2008. Upon returning to his alma mater, Bari began serving as one of the advisors to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

 

Bari came from Greensboro College, where he was head coach of the Pride since December 2006 and accumulated a 22-13-3 overall record. Before coaching at Greensboro, Bari was at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Elmira College, where he coached from 2001 through 2005 and was named Empire 8 Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2002. He also served as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Arizona State University from 1999 to 2001. Bari was also the Director of Coaching at Guilford United Soccer Club and has professional playing experience.  

 

His long list of administrative experience includes service as the CHAMPS/Life Skills and Compliance Coordinator at Greensboro College, as well as College Administrator and Director of Community Outreach and Athlete Support Services at Elmira College.  During his four years as an undergraduate at

St. Lawrence, Bari served as the men's soccer team's SAAC representative.

 

 

Aland Joseph

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Advisor

Aland Joseph joined the Saint football staff as running backs coach after a four-year career at Springfield College. In 2008, Joseph was promoted to the University's position entitled the Assistant Director of Student Athlete Development. With the change in job, Joseph was also repositioned with the football squad as he took over the cornerbacks beginning in the fall of 2007 and began working as an advisor with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

 

Aland was a four-year letterman and played on the 2003 and 2006 league championship teams. He was the second leading receiver for Springfield last season and scored three rushing touchdowns with a long run of 63 yards.

 

He worked as a personal trainer at the NY Sports Club in Stamford, CT and as conditioning coach for Trinity Catholic High School in the summer of 2006 and has done extensive work with the disabled. He earned his degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies.
