NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committees

What is a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee:

A Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience at the campus, conference and national levels.

SAAC offers student-athletes input on the Association's rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes at NCAA member institutions.

NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have a SAAC on campus. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have a SAAC. There are separate SAACs for Divisions I, II and III at the national level.

The NCAA wants to ensure student-athletes receive the best collegiate athletic experience possible. This includes experiences that support academic development, safety, diversity, community leadership and healthy living. This is why student-athlete input, filtered from the campus, to the conference, to the national SAACs, is considered a valuable and credible voice in shaping the NCAA and its governing bodies.
