"MAD MEN" CLAIM 2007 DODGEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Dec. 11: St. Lawrence University’s second installment of the annual Dodgeball Tournament took place Saturday December 8th at 9pm. The event was hosted by SAAC, SLU intramurals, and Residence Life. Subway was also a sponsor for the occasion through its donation of cookies for the competitors

The tournament was in the Round Robin format, as each team played all of their opponents to determine a champion. Each round consisted of a best-of-three game series.

Anyone who believed that the tourney would be taken lightly by the participants would have been severely mistaken. Each team played with great intensity and enthusiasm. Eventually, only one team was left standing, as the “Mad Men” would emerge to stake their claim as the 2007 St. Lawrence University Dodgeball Champions.

Team members for the 2007 champions included Devaun McFarland, Axel Galeano, Alan Rajapa, Chris Leon, Jonathan Edwards, Anthony Patterson and Andrew Ross.

In the final round, Team Rebert pushed the Mad Men to the limit as they won the second game to force a deciding third match. No one would leave empty handed, as all received 2007 Dodgeball T-shirts with the winners gaining the coveted Brown SLU Intramural Champion T-shirts as well.

The Mad Men will also have their names engraved on a trophy to be displayed in Augsbury Center. A special thanks goes out to all that helped to put on the event as well as the referees and participants.
