The Program ... Saints Nordic Skiing

St. Lawrence University's nordic ski team gives student athletes the opportunity to compete on the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association carnival circuit. The competitive EISA schedule is comprised of six carnivals. The St. Lawrence University Winter Carnival has been held in Lake Placid, NY, the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and at Camp Fortune near Ottawa, Ontario in recent years.

St. Lawrence is a Division III institution that competes in the multi-divisional EISA and the NCAA Championships, which are non-divisional. Other members of the EISA include Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Dartmouth, Harvard, New Hampshire, Middlebury, St. Michael's, Vermont and Williams.

Skiers and coaches work closely together to design individual training programs for both in-season and off-season preparation. Formal dry land practices begin in late September with pre-season competitions beginning in December with selected non-collegiate events.

Skiers qualify for the NCAA championships based on results throughout the season. The number of EISA qualifiers changes from year to year based upon results of the previous season, and St. Lawrence has sent a number of individual qualifiers to the NCAA championships in recent years.
