Vargo was a four-sport athlete, competing in Nordic skiing, Cross Country, Soccer and Baseball. A member of both the National Honor Society and the Student Senate, Vargo was a four-time All-State selection for Nordic skiing and was the New England Nordic ski champion in 2007. The Shaftsburg, VT native, who served as captain for both the Nordic ski and cross country teams, was a two-time all-league selection for cross country running as well.
