James showed great potential both in the classroom and in athletics, as she finished fourth in her class overall (GPA) while participating in Nordic Skiing, Track and Soccer. The Avon, ME native, who served as captain for all three teams, was also the Most Valuable Performer and Conference Champion in Nordic Skiing. James, a member of the National Honor Society, was also a DAR Representative.
