2007: Bednar had a fantastic sophomore campaign with the women's Nordic ski team, becoming one of the most consistent finishers in the East Region. The Essex, VT native, who entered the season with one top-15 finish last year, accumulated five as a sophomore and led the team six times in individual races. Bednar improved her career-best finish to 9th place, which she did three times (10K Classic at UNH, 15K Classic at Dartmouth, 5K Free at EISA Championships). Thanks to her outstanding year, Bednar earned a spot in the 2007 NCAA Championships hosted by UNH, where she finished 35th in the country in the 5K Free and 33rd in the nation in the 15K Classic.

2006: After an outstanding rookie season with the St. Lawrence women's soccer team, Bednar continued to shine for the Scarlet and Brown on the Nordic Ski squad. In her freshman campaign, she posted a top-15 finish in her first ever 15km race. Her contributions to the program were recognized as Bednar was tagged the "Rookie of the Year" by her team. In addition to her collegiate races, the Essex, VT native also raced in the New England Junior Olympic Qualifiers and the 2006 Junior Olympics. Her best finish at the Junior Olympics was a 12th place showing in the Freestyle race.

Bednar played soccer, lacrosse, and competed on the nordic ski team while in high school. She was All-League and All-State in soccer for the 2003 and 2004 seasons, as well as nordic skiing for the 2002, 2003, and 2004 seasons. Bednar captained her soccer team in 2004, her ski team in 2003 and 2004, and her lacrosse team in 2004.
